President's Biography
Charles Grimes
After attending Macon College in Macon, Georgia and serving in the United States Army Reserves, I became involved in customer relations with major wholesale companies for forty years. Thirty of those years have been spent in Northeast Georgia and the last twelve in Oconee County. After taking an early retirement from Amerisource/Bergan, I became a member support representative for the Georgia Pharmaceutical Association. In April of this year, I retired again!
Over the years, I have been actively involved in community service organizations around the county. In 2003, I served as president of the Oconee County Rotary Club. With the Chamber, I have served as fall festival chairperson and as co-chair of the Economic Development committee. In addition, I am a member of the Georgia Pharmaceutical Association.
My wife, Patsy, recently retired as Curriculum Coordinator of Barrow County Schools and continues part-time with Barrow County schools overseeing the Federal programs. We have a son, Christopher, who writes for The London Financial Times in New York City where he and his wife Jane live.
